Covered California Open Enrollment
Are you currently on Covered CA Health Plan and need help with the renewal this upcoming Open Enrollment Period (OEP)? Every year the insurance carriers have to file with Covered California new insurance plans, benefits and most importantly premiums. We recommend that every year you review your health plan and focus on four key areas:
- Deductible, cop-pays, coinsurance & out of pocket maximums: For the 2019 Plan year, the limit for a Covered CA Plan was $7,900 for individual and $15,800 for a family For 2020, the limit for individual will be $8,150 and $16,300 for family. Could be lower if you qualify for Cost-sharing reductions (CSR)
- Provider network: Insurance carriers constantly make changes to their provider network. You need to ensure your preferred PCP, Specialist and Hospital are still in-network
- Prescription drugs:Every year the insurance carriers revise their medication formulary. Covered medications can change tiers and cost-sharing and even removed from the formulary as a covered drug
- Premiums: Will your premium go up for Plan Year 2020? Switching to lower cost Bronze Plan could help you save money
